Information prior to your first consultation
Payment can be made by cheque, cash or credit / debit card.
I am a registered provider for several health insurance schemes. If you wish to claim for your homeopathic treatment, please bring your policy number with you. Unfortunately BUPA no longer covers homeopathic treatment. Please check with your health insurance before the consultation as they all have different criteria for providing cover according to your particular policy. Some require a referral letter from your GP, this does not have to be detailed, just covering the diagnosis, and any relevant treatment or investigations. I can invoice the insurance company directly if you have had the homeopathic treatment cleared with them in advance and bring your policy / authorisation number along.
The length of the initial consultation reflects the depth and detail in which we need to discuss your problem(s) on your first visit. In Homeopathy we are treating the person who has the symptom(s), not the symptoms in isolation. Although we will focus in detail on your main problem, I will also try to understand you as a person during the consultation. We recognise that health problems are more likely to happen during or after stressful times in one’s life. Therefore it is very helpful for me if you could prepare a basic timeline of significant life events and onset of main symptoms, so we can identify patterns and explore how the whole picture fits together. Significant life events might include a bereavement, divorce / separation of parents, starting school / university / new job, marriage, pregnancy a/ miscarriage, birth of children, redundancy, major illnesses / operations / accidents etc. The timeline can be a series of sequential dates of events, or you can include more details if you wish to. It is helpful if you can email the timeline to me before the consultation.
Please complete the accompanying contact detail form and bring it with you.
It is very helpful for my records to have a photograph of each patient, so please bring one with you or you can email it to me if you have the facilities. Please also bring a list of medications you are on.
I usually see patients once every 4-6 weeks for follow up. If you need to contact me, or need to change your appointment, it is more convenient for me to do this by email than telephone. My email address is below. However if you are not on email, the best time to contact me by phone is 1.30 – 2.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
If you cannot attend a booked appointment please let me know as soon as possible, preferably by email. It is no problem to cancel if you give me 24 hours notice, but there is a charge of half the appointment fee for booked appointments that are not attended.
We have two cats, please let me know in advance if you have a cat allergy.
I look forward to meeting you.
